Rend Lake College is one of 48 two-year, open-admission colleges of the Illinois Community College. Rand is located in Ina, Illinois. Rend was founded as Mt. Vernon Community College in 1955 in order to give high school graduates in the area the opportunity to receive post-secondary education. Expanded curricula offerings in both the baccalaureate and vocational areas, plus the establishment of a School of Practical Nursing in 1961, eventually attracted students from surrounding communities, rapidly increasing. In 1966 it officially became Rend Lake College.
Today, Rend Lake College offers over 100 degree and certificate programs. With these options, you can prepare to transfer to a four-year university or train to enter the workforce.
