Program Details

Offered 100% online, Regent University’s PhD in Counseling and Psychological Studies has a concentration in Biblical Counseling.  This advanced, terminal degree blends faith and science together with research and experiential learning, to provide you a foundation in mental health counseling.  If you do not require professional accreditation within your organization, you can advance your work and help others with this degree.  Regent’s Biblical Counseling concentration will enable you to impact others in various settings, while applying theology and scripture interpretation to their needs.  Sample courses within this curriculum include:

  • Issues in biblical counseling
  • Christian counseling
  • Qualitative research methodologies
  • Appraisal and psychometrics

Requirements

  • Hold a regionally accredited 30 hour master's degree in a mental health field, such as counseling, psychology, social work or pastoral ministry
  • A minimum of a 3.5 GPA in your graduate level coursework
  • Have at least one year of experience in a mental health field (highly desirable)
  • International Applicants who have studied at institutions outside of the United States, will need to submit a course by course evaluation showing the completion of a regionally accredited graduate degree
