Program Details

Regent University offers an online Master of Divinity in Church History.  You can dive into the heritage and developments of the church while studying its major leaders and historical figures.  You can improve your knowledge of biblical writings and hermeneutics that will enable you to more easily apply scripture to everyday living.  Coursework within this concentration is likely to include: 

  • Modern church history
  • Early church history
  • Medieval church history
  • Protestant reformation
  • History of Renewal movements

Regent’s Master of Divinity in Church and Ministry requires a capstone course.  This culmination of your learning can be demonstrated through clinical pastoral education, a master’s thesis, or spiritual formation portfolio project.


  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required of all master’s applicants
  • Official transcripts
  • A minimum GPA of 2.75
  • High intellectual achievement and scholarship as evidenced by college transcripts and the applicant's writing sample
  • Spiritual maturity and integrity of character
  • Personal goals consistent with the mission of Regent University
