Regent University offers an online Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership and Renewal for professionals who wish to improve their leadership abilities and learn the skills to face the contemporary challenges faced by ministers.  You can garner the knowledge to administer within your ministry through strategic planning and project management. This terminal degree, which can be tailored to your learning needs and career goals, applies to parachurch, mission, counseling and other ministerial environments.  Concentration coursework includes:

  • Planting healthy churches
  • Missional ministry
  • Church and ministerial health
  • Developing the leaders around you
  • Renewal and transformation in ministry

Regent’s Doctorate of Ministry can be completed at your own pace, online, with the option of an on-campus residency.  The residency involves a 4-day stay on Regent’s Virginia Beach campus.

Additional Info

Students are required to attend an on-campus seminar of 1 to 1.5 weeks for each core course, while completing substantial pre- and post-session assignments at home.

  • An applicant must have:
    • Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree (or equivalent theological master's degree of at least 72 credit hours) from an ATS accredited, graduate institution OR a M.Div. equivalency of 72 credit hours of graduate-level coursework, with at least 48 credit hours being graduate-level theological studies courses
  • Current activity in a church or parachurch ministry context
  • A minimum of 3 years of significant ministry experience; experience must be gained following the completion of 72 credit hours of graduate coursework
