Reading Area Community College is an institution located in Reading, Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1971 to serve the Reading and Berks County areas to provide higher education at a reasonable price. The college was housed all over the Reading area for the first couple years of its existence including the purchase of the local Holiday Inn. A smaller campus was available but in the 1980's the population of the student body grew to the point where an expansion was needed. In 1996, the college completed the campus expansion to make it an attractive city-based campus.
RACC is a comprehensive, open-enrollment educational institution that provides associate's degrees, certificates, and diploma programs. RACC is committed to offering its students a quality online education. Online courses are available in a variety of disciplines and several programs are fully online.
