At Rasmussen University, the Early Childhood Education Certificate prepares you with the essential skills and educational strategies to help make a positive impact in the lives of young children. Rasmussen's career-focused curriculum is aligned to the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards and prepares you to apply for your Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.* And if you already have a current CDA Credential, you can waive up to 12 credits. Along the way, you’ll gain relevant skills employers value, including helping young children learn and develop their skills and knowledge and observing and implementing developmentally appropriate practices while interacting with children and adults. You can earn your Certificate in as few as 9-12 months with courses offered online.* You can also choose to take advantage of our favorable transfer policy to apply your credits toward an ECE Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
*The School of Education at Rasmussen University is not accredited by NAEYC. Completion time is dependent on transfer credits accepted and courses completed each term. Graduates of Early Childhood Education programs at Rasmussen University are not eligible for licensure as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school. A Bachelor’s degree and a state teaching license are typically required to work as a teacher in a public school and some private school settings. States, municipalities, districts or individual schools may have more stringent licensing requirements. Students must determine the licensure requirements in the state and school in which they intend to work. See rasmussen.edu/SID for information about educational debt, earnings and completion rates.
