At Rasmussen College, the Early Childhood Education Associate’s degree with a specialization in Child Development prepares you to plan activities, materials and interactions that promote the healthy development of children. Through career-focused curriculum based on National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards, our program prepares you to apply for your Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Through courses led by experienced faculty and 540 hours of applied learning, you gain relevant skills employers value, including the ability to structure environments and activities for a variety of learners and to deliver developmentally appropriate education and communication strategies. Your courses are offered online and on campus to fit your schedule. And if you choose our Flex Choice option, you can combine traditional courses and self-directed assessments to save time and money while pursuing a degree at a pace that fits your lifestyle.
Completion time is dependent on transfer credits accepted and courses completed each term.
The School of Education at Rasmussen College is not accredited by NAEYC. This program has not been approved by any state’s professional licensing body, and this program is not intended to lead to any state-issued professional license. Graduates of Early Childhood Education programs at Rasmussen College are not eligible for licensure as a teacher in an elementary or secondary school.
