Program Details

Raritan Valley Community College offers a Liberal Arts Associate's Degree entirely online. Liberal Arts is the study of basic knowledge and the development of one’s ability to think clearly.  Liberal Arts can be a good foundation for a variety of careers.

Graduates of the RVCC Liberal Arts Degree are able to think critically, interpret complex ideas and demonstrate high level skills in oral and written communication. Students also develop skills in written communication and textual explanation, analysis and interpretation and demonstrate the ability to apply classroom learning to solve real-world problems.

The 61- to 65-credit program offers students a wide variety of online courses to choose from. Students take courses in English, mathematics, science, the arts, social sciences, foreign language, history, and more. Students can also choose to concentrate in Social Science, Music, Studio Arts, Theatre or Communication. The Liberal Arts Associate’s Degree is ideal for those looking to easily transfer into the junior year of study at a four-year college. RVCC has transfer agreements with close to 50 colleges and universities; however, Raritan strongly advises to discuss the General Education Foundation Courses with a counselor.
