Master of Science in Organizational Leadership
Quinnipiac University offers a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership for students and professionals in business who want to develop their knowledge and understanding of the role of leaders in business. Students will also learn how leadership is utilized in business in order to lead others by example and bring out the best in others by utilizing knowledge of psychology and group dynamics in order to improve efficiency and improve well-being. Businesses of all sizes and scopes are in need of dynamic and empowered leaders who can find creative answers to problems and challenges.
This program utilizes specialized courses relating to the management of businesses and the leadership of organizations. Those classes include foundations of organizational leadership, the power and politics of communication, leadership across boundaries, performance management, project management, leading organizational change, ethics and governance, leadership consulting, leadership in human resources, employment law for the non-lawyer, and employee development strategies for organizational leaders, to name a few.
Graduates of the program will have demonstrated the necessary qualities of an organizational leader in business or in other nonprofit, community, or government organizations. These qualifications include the ability to apply sound principles in the practice of innovative leadership in complex environments, to apply appropriate research and analysis techniques to investigate complex situations in order to develop formal research-based solutions, to demonstrate reasoned, ethical decision-making skills, to develop constructive approaches to change and innovation that manage risk, embrace ambiguity, and enable agility by responding and adapting to evolving circumstances, and to evaluate values, strengths, and weaknesses in order to further develop leadership styles and improve leadership effectiveness.
