Master of Science in Information Technology
Quinnipiac University offers a Master of Science degree in Information Technology for students and professionals in business and information technology who want to develop advanced and specialized knowledge of information systems and their ability to be utilized to compile, store, and analyze data for purposes of statistical analysis and business utilization. Through the program, students will be challenged to develop their knowledge through classes and through experience, and by doing so, developing premier job skills which are absolutely vital to businesses of all sizes and scopes.
This program utilizes specialized courses relating to the management of information systems and the utilization of information systems in business. Those classes include information systems strategy, data management, business design and object oriented analysis, communications and networking, managing information technology projects and organizations, and more.
Graduates of the program will have demonstrated the qualifications and qualities of a professional in advanced networking and information systems services. These qualifications the ability to design appropriate software system structures in response to application needs, organizational environment, and technical ecology, to make appropriate design choices based on system, service, and business process needs, to analyze social, legal, ethical, and professional issues in business and technical decision making, to employ best communication practices with business partners, users, customers, and third-party providers, to use sound evaluation practices to select appropriately among competing technologies and technical approaches, and to manage business processes through analysis, design, and optimization in response to organizational needs.
