Program Details

Digital technologies are becoming a crucial part of how we communicate. The online MA in Communication concentration in Integrated Digital Strategy provides you with the opportunity to develop advanced and in-depth expertise in digital and emerging media so you can develop and manage comprehensive digital communication plans.

The concentration consists of four courses. Complete Strategic Communication for Global Audiences, Creativity and Networks, and Organizational Identity and Brand from the required courses, plus:

  • Digital Experience Design

In addition to providing you with opportunities to learn and practice using digital media, coursework explores functions such as location-based interventions and how they can be effectively applied to digital communication strategies. You will also explore the role of digital technology in local, group, and community participation and how digital communities form and organize in various environments, including digital, geographic, physical, and hybrid spaces.

As a culminating project, you will design a digital intervention of your own for a community that you have identified. This project will provide you with the chance to apply your newly gained skills to a real-world environment.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required
  • Two admissions essays (contact a program manager for more details)
  • Two letters of academic or professional reference
  • Resume outlining academic and professional background and recognitions, honors and awards
  • Applicants with less than three years of relevant work experience or an undergraduate GPA below 3.0 may be required to submit an acceptable GMAT or GRE score to augment their application package.
