Master of Science in Nursing / Family Nurse Practitioner
Post University

Program Details

The Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is designed for RNs with a BSN who wish to take the licensure test in FNP.  This online nurse practitioner degree meets two needs: helping with the shortage of primary care providers and providing more recognition for nurses.  Nurses will be able to provide patient-centered care as NPs while gaining job stability.

The rigorous curriculum in this FNP degree program covers both clinical and academic knowledge.  You learn to manage the overall health of families in your care, including promoting health, accessing healthcare resources, managing acute and chronic illnesses, and more.  A variety of topics are covered as students learn to assess, prevent, diagnose, and manage the health conditions of patients throughout their lives.  Examples of advanced primary care areas covered include:

  • Advanced Health Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning for the APRN
  • Maternal and Child Care
  • Advanced Practice Nursing Integration
