Program Overview

Portland State University offers an E-Learning Development for Online Educators Certificate of Completion that is well suited for individuals who wish to enhance their knowledge on e-learning environments. Students enrolled in this certificate program will gain in-depth knowledge on best practices, adult learning, e-learning in multiple environments, development of e-learning projects, and much more. Graduates who earn this certificate are often employed as instructors, administrators, instructional designers, technology coordinators, or in various other occupations.

The E-Learning Development for Online Educators Certificate of Completion Program consists of 15 total credit hours. Students must complete core courses and elective credits in order to finish the program. Core Course requirements includes Strategies for eLearning, Designing eLearning, Developing eLearning, and a Culminating Project on Implementing & Evaluating eLearning. These courses are designed for students to acquire knowledge that will assist them with eLearning development within their careers. The courses are expertly crafted to ensure that graduates will be knowledgeable, competent, and professional while working in their positions.

All courses for this program are available online. This online learning format provides flexibility for enrolled students who are employed or have other obligations. Students must be highly disciplined to complete a large amount of coursework. Time management, a reliable internet connection, and word processing skills are very important for students who enroll.
