Pittsburgh Technical College was founded in 1946 as a small, single-discipline school, and operated under the name of the School of Management Engineering. PTC began adding programs in the 1990s in fields of engineering, hospitality, and nursing, among others, and today, Pittsburgh Technical College is classified as a two-year, private, for-profit institution.
Pittsburgh Technical College offers bachelor, associate, and certificate programs that combine comprehensive general studies with dynamic hands-on, career-focused education. PTC's Online Division offers certificate and degree programs through distance education. Additionally many campus-based programs offer selected coursework in the online format.
