Program Details

PCC offers the online Medical Billing & Coding Diploma. Medical coders and billers transform healthcare diagnoses, procedures, medical services, and equipment into a medical alphanumeric code. They also process and follow up on claims sent to health insurance companies for reimbursement of services provided by healthcare providers.  These individuals work to avoid insurance payment denials. This requires a knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Course work includes the following:

  • medical insurance and billing
  • medical office management
  • computer applications
  • medical terminology
  • medical coding

This curriculum prepares individuals for employment as medical administrative personnel in the areas of medical office, medical billing and coding, dental office, patient services, and medical documents.
