Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing was founded in 1902 and by 1904 it was chartered by the New York Board of Regents. Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing is a two-year, private, not-for-profit institution. Accreditation status was earned in 2012 through the New York State Board of Regents, and the Commissioner of Education. Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing operates with the mission "to provide optimal academic and clinical experiences which will enable individuals to obtain an Associate in Applied Science Degree, and be eligible for licensure as Registered Professional Nurses." The Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing has a campus in the Chelsea section of Manhattan.

Students have a choice between associate's degrees in nursing or the RN-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN degree) at Phillips Beth Israel School of Nursing.
