    • Prerequisites must be met before enrolling in core classes with exception of PSY 222

    • Grade of “C” or better in all required nursing prerequisites and cumulative GPA of 2.0

    School Overview

    Pfeiffer University is a private liberal arts university affiliated with the United Methodist Church that was founded in 1885 from the Oberlin Home and School. In 1903, after the Women’s Home Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church agreed to assume responsibility for the Oberlin prodiverty. Due to the expanding need of community members, a junior college curriculum was added in 1928, and the school was renamed Mitchell Junior College. Later, in 1960, Henry and Annie Merner Pfeiffer funded the construction of four brick buildings and President’s Home which allowed the school to broaden its program to include senior college. By 1996, the Board of Trustees voted to reorganize Pfeiffer’s academic structure towards university status. The school continued to expand and in 1977, a Charlotte campus opened.

    There are six divisions of study available to Pfeiffer University students. The academic divisions of study are:
