    School Overview

Pennsylvania College of Technology was founded in 1941 as the Williamsport Technical Institute. Prior to its founding, as an institute of higher learning, the school functioned as an adult education and training facility since as early as 1914. During World War II, the school operated 24 hours per day, providing war production training to help meet defense industry needs. In 1989, the college became an affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University and changed its name to Pennsylvania College of Technology. Pennsylvania College of Technology operates with the mission "to provide comprehensive, hands-on technical education at the baccalaureate and associate degree levels while creating and sustaining excellence in a student-centered environment that promotes personal growth, social awareness, a shared commitment to diversity and lifelong learning."

Pennsylvania College of Technology is classified as a public, four year institution, but primarily awards associate's degrees in addition to bachelor's degrees and certificates from the following academic schools:

    • Business and Hospitality
    • Industrial, Computing, and Engineering Technologies
    • Construction and Design Technologies
    • Sciences, Humanities, and Visual Communications
    • Transportation and Natural Resources Technologies
