Electronic Medical Records Certificate
Penn Foster

Program Details

Students have the opportunity to learn new skills and techniques directly rooted in electronic medical records. In this program offered by Penn Foster Career School, students are provided an overview on managing electronic medical records. Students learn electronic medical record (EMR) concepts, procedures, regulations, and terminology. Penn Foster’s EMR Certificate program is beneficial for students looking to achieve new job skills, gain a better understanding of medical record terminology, and receive hands-on training using an electronic medical record. Students will need access to a Microsoft Windows computer to complete the assignments.

In pursing the Electronic Medical Records Certificate, students take courses in Electronic Medical Records and Electronic Health Records, which provide students with specialized training. The courses introduce students to SpringCharts® EHR software, through which students receive hands-on training on how to correctly store patient’s information. Students are also taught how to customize electronic templates and record tools.

Prospective students who are interested in Penn Foster’s Electronic Medical Records Training Certificate may fill out an online application to registers. The application is accessible on the Penn Foster Career School website. After a student has been accepted and the enrollment process is completed, students receive the course materials and may begin the program at their leisure.
