The Criminal Justice – AS Degree* offered by Penn Foster College allows students to learn the skills to help them take the first step towards employment in criminal law, police management, and criminology. Due to the nature of this online degree program, there is no need for classroom attendance. Students are trained in law enforcement, crime prevention, security, and how court systems operate.

Previous coursework completed before starting with Penn Foster College can be reviewed for potential credit, granted that it meets the requirements Penn Foster College has instated. By completing a basic skills assessment, Penn Foster College is able to determine the best suitable level for students to begin the required math and reading courses. Once the level to begin has been determined, students engage in courses such as Information Literacy, and Criminal Justice Orientation. In these courses students study about search engines and databases, both for the Internet and sources attainted through libraries.

Throughout the course of each semester, students complete graded projects that are a part of the expected coursework. Other courses include Criminal Procedures, and Ethics in Criminal Justice.
