School Overview

Pearl River Community College was founded in 1909 as Mississippi’s first county agricultural high school. Originally the school focused on educating high school age children in academic studies and agricultural and home sciences. Then in 1921, freshman college courses were made available. By 1924, the school became the first public two-year college in the state. Pearl River Community College operates with the mission "to provide quality educational and service opportunities for all who seek them." The Pearl River Community College campus is located in Poplarville, Mississippi near the De Soto National Forest.
