M.A. Counseling
Palo Alto University

Program Details

Palo Alto University offers a fully online Master of Arts in Counseling which can lead to licensure in many states. One of the premire aspects of this degree program is that it can be taken completely online without the need to take on-campus classes. The program develops the skills sets of participants by focusing a curriculum upon four areas. These foci are in assessment, intervention/counseling, research as it relates to critical thinking, and ethics within the professional practice environment. Likewise, the program is all about flexibility as applicants can choose to be full-time or part-time students depending upon their preferences.

The Master of Arts in Counseling offers two areas of emphasis:

  • Marriage, Family, and Child
  • Clinical Mental Health

College transcripts verifying the awarding of a bachelor's degree is required. Only official, sealed transcripts obtained from the Registrar's office of each of these institutions are acceptable.

The online format includes a one-week residency that requires all U.S. and international students, except those in PAU's China cohort, to attend a one-week residency at the Palo Alto campus.
