Palo Alto College offers the Associate of Arts in Social Work, the professional activity of helping individuals, groups, and communities enhance or restore their capacity for social functioning. The profession promotes social change, problem solving in human relationships, and the empowerment of people to increase their well-being.
Social workers are employed in such fields as:
- child and family service agencies
- drug treatment centers
- hospitals and hospices
- public health departments
- social welfare agencies
- probation programs
- counseling centers
- child care centers
Requires 60 credit hours for completion.
