Master of Business Administration / Population Health/Health Care Management
Ottawa University

Program Details

Population Health Management (PHM) is a new discipline within healthcare management, arising from the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  This online MBA concentration offered by Ottawa University was created for traditional health delivery organizations, such as surgery centers, outpatient facilities, and clinics.  However, it also includes newer models in managed care, like Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). In this graduate program, you will learn the new models behind the delivery of quality patient care and services to your designated population(s) and the financing which underlies it.

There is currently an employment gap which needs to be filled by professionals who possess this specialized knowledge of how to design, implement and measure Population Health Management.  Whether you are already an administrator within a clinical setting, or a healthcare provider, Ottawa’s MBA in Population Health Management will advance both your career and the care of your patients.  Coursework includes:

  • Program development for improved outcomes
  • Regulatory systems
  • Qualitative assessment
  • Legal, ethical and political aspects in healthcare environments
