Master of Natural Resources

Program Details

The online Master of Natural Resources program is interdisciplinary and designed for natural resource professionals looking for career advancement.  The curriculum helps develop the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to provide workable solutions for complex natural resources challenges and teaches students to balance competing economic, health, and environmental interests.  Students have the opportunity to choose an area of emphasis that meets their interests and career goals or can design their own area of focus.  Available areas of emphasis include:

  • Fisheries management
  • Forests and climate change
  • Geographic information science
  • Urban forestry
  • Water conflict management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any social or natural science field
  • Degree should include basic courses in biology, ecology and economics
  • A minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Take or have taken the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) within the past five years
  • Recommended background includes two years of natural resources-related work experience
  • Submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Cover letter
