Program Details

Oregon State University offers two options for a sociology degree online, the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Sociology.  This program is for individuals interested in human society, social forces, and social interaction.  The curriculum offers a strong foundation in quantitative analysis, oral and written communication, social policy, and research methods.  You will also study how human values and community are shaped by class, gender, and ethnic differences.  In addition to the liberal arts, students learn about abstract social forces including modernization and globalization. 

Students can tailor their studies to meet their interests and goals by choosing an area of specialization:

  • Crime and justice
  • Environmental and natural resources
