Olivet College was founded in 1844 and is affiliated with the United Church of Christ and the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches. Upon its founding and still to this day, the guiding principle was to provide students with the means of intellectual, moral and spiritual improvement, and to teach them the art and science of doing good to others. Olivet College operated under the belief that an education should be available to anyone regardless of gender, race or ability to pay and in 1845 that same commitment to educating women and minorities prevented the college from receiving a state charter.
Olivet College is a private, four year, not for profit institution that awards bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in Olivet, Michigan. Currently Olivet offers an online, instructor-led, virtual program leading to an MBA in Insurance.
