Master of Science in Nursing / Nurse Midwifery
East Carolina University

Program Details

The online MSN with a concentration in Nurse Midwifery is designed for RNs seeking to advance their careers while learning to care for multicultural women across their lifespan.  Students also learn how to reduce health disparities in rural and underserved regions.  The curriculum prepares nurses who are leaders to collaborate with colleagues in order to maintain, reformulate, or refine systems of health care that are effective, efficient, and responsive to patient needs, especially those of women and newborns.  You will learn about the integration of theories from nursing, midwifery, and other disciplines to guide clinical practice and influence health policy while gaining skills in critical thinking and research.

Graduates are safe and competent practitioners of nurse-midwifery and are eligible for certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
