Program Details

The online Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Coastal Engineering program is designed to help students become technological leaders in civil and environmental engineering.  The curriculum prepares students to be master planners, designers, constructors, and managers of the built environment and stewards of our natural resources and the environment while emphasizing coastal engineering.  The coastal engineering curriculum emphasizes advances in knowledge in topics unique to coastal environments, such as wave theory, soil erosion, and coastal resilience to sea level rise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in civil or environmental engineering with a strong background in mathematics and physical sciences
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher (4.0 scale); provisional admission considered with eligible work experience or acceptable credentials
  • Official transcripts
  • GRE test scores (waived for approved ABET-accredited engineering degree within US)
  • Essay
  • Two letters of recommendation
