Program Details

The online Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Physician Assistant is for licensed physician assistants who wish to incorporate neonatal care into their skill set. The didactic content of this program complements the on-the-job training students receive. This certificate may be completed in three semesters.

Course topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Neonate physiology
  • Pharmacology
  • Health management for high-risk neonates

One course requires an on-campus visit to Virginia Beach for telehealth training and skills verification. Students will learn how to care for infants with very low birth weight, and infants who require surgery. The online graduate certificate in neonatal physician assistant will prepare graduates for successful and rewarding careers helping premature infants.
