Program Details

Old Dominion University offers the online Graduate Certificate in Literacy Coaching. This certificate is designed to prepare literacy coaches in understanding literacy development among children using research-based theories in literacy methods and instructional design. Graduates of this program will be able to use such methods in coaching children who require enhanced instruction related to reading and writing. They will also be prepared to assess learning outcomes in literacy and to supervise classroom literacy programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college/university
  • Virginia Collegiate Professional License or an equivalent license from another state
  • Undergraduate GPA of 2.80 and an average of 3.00 in the major
  • Official copies of all transcripts
