Program Details

The online Master of Science in Forensic Sciences program, hosted through the Center for Health Sciences, prepares students for careers as criminalists, forensic document examiners, special investigators, and more where they will work in crime and medical examiner labs and in government agencies and universities.  Students can choose from two concentrations offered online so that the program best meets their interests and goals: Forensic Documentation Examination and Forensic Science Administration.  The Forensic Documentation Examination concentration offers a background in forensic sciences and specialized courses in forensic handwriting analysis, criminalistics, evidence analysis, and the technical aspects of forensic documentation examination.  The Forensic Science Administration concentration includes specialized courses in forensic leadership, ethics, management, and organizational development, which helps students build toward management positions and expands forensic sciences knowledge.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s degree
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • GRE or MAT test score
  • Job-related experience
  • Submission of verification of forensic-related employment form by employer
  • Three letters of recommendation preferably from professors and/or supervisors familiar with the applicant's academic ability, work ethic and skills
  • Statement of purpose
