Upon completion of the program, students will know how to manage all types of disaster situations and offer “Christ-like service” to those in need.  In addition students will be trained in providing service to all stages of human need in disasters, from immediate suffering to long term community rebuilding.

The BA in Business with a concentration in Disaster Management and Relief requires 45 semester credit hours and 16 required courses.  This is part of the 124 credit hours that OCU requires its Adult Bachelor Program students to complete for graduation.  Included in these required courses are Christian Excellence, Ethics, Transformed Worldview, Introduction to Disaster Response and Recovery, Emergency Work in Conflict Situations, and Trauma.  Hands-on classes give students a firm handle on how combine Christian service, business management and leadership, and disaster relief.

Ohio Christian University also requires students of the program to have a 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA to graduate from the program.

For enrollment in the BA in Business with a concentration in Disaster Management and Relief students must have completed at least 50 semester credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Credit hours may also be earned through OCU’s Prior Learning Assessment program which grants credit hours for work experiences, self study, seminars, training programs, workshops or non-credit classes.  OCU evaluates and grants up to 24 credit hours for the level of the student’s learning from these sources.  Completion of an associate degree in business management or disaster management and relief would be beneficial to future students of the Bachelor Program.
