Program Details

The online Medical Coding Certificate program prepares students to code, classify, and index diagnoses and procedures for reimbursement, standardization, retrieval, and statistical analysis.  The curriculum emphasizes principles in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, CPT coding, and third-party reimbursement while also teaching students to identify components of appropriate and adequate documentation.  Courses teach knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, medical terminology, pharmacology, ethical practices, and clinical data as they relate to the collection and use of health information.
