Program Overview

Ocean County College’s online Associate of Science in Computer Science / Information Technology program prepares students to transfer to a four-year institution to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree.  Course work follows the model provided by the Association of Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Computer Society.  This program is interdisciplinary and ideally prepares students to meet the future needs of integration, design, deployment and management of computing.

    Requirements

    Recommended criteria for admissions: high school diploma or equivalent. Cumulative high school grade point average of C or above. Ranked in the top half of high school graduating class. No developmental studies requirement.

    Ocean County College, a public, not for profit, community college, was established in 1969. The main campus for Ocean County College is located in Toms River, New Jersey. It is the mission of Ocean County College to "foster excellence and a caring environment for all of its students."

    Students who are enrolled in classes at Ocean County College have the option of taking classes during the day, evening, weekends or even online. OCC awards associate's degrees, many of which can be earned completely online.
