Prepare for a career working with one area of the student population with this online special education degree. This program is designed for certified teachers who are interested in teaching those with special needs, especially those with emotional and behavioral disorders.  

The curriculum is comprised of two parts. It focuses on both the broader concepts of exceptionality, which is learning, instruction, and development and on in-depth preparation in the area of emotional and behavioral disorders. Courses, which integrate theory and research, will likely include:

  • Students with Behavioral and/or Emotional Impairment 
  • Language and Exceptional Children and Youth 
  • Educational Procedures for Students with Emotional Impairment 
  • Advanced Interventions and Resources for Students with Emotional Impairment
