Nursing Education

Nurses are needed, urgently. More than 500,000 experienced R.N.’s are anticipated to retire by 2022. And, roughly 100,000 new nursing positions open every year. This dramatic combination means that 1.1 million new nurses are needed by 2022 to avoid a shortage.

And who teaches nurses? Other nurses. With 21 credits dedicated to this specialization, you’ll help avoid a nursing shortage and teach nursing excellence to the next generation in an academic or staff-development role.

A Strong Career as a Nurse Educator

Are you passionate about sharing your expertise? Do you like to help others learn? More nurse educators are needed to teach excellence in the profession to future nursing generations. As an educator, you can teach as part of a degree program or within a staff-development role.

The nurse educator path is a flexible one. Early on, many nurses choose to take on dual roles, both as an educator and as a clinical provider. Given the number of new career paths and advanced education requirements for entry-level nurses, now is a perfect time to finalize your nurse educator credentials.
