Nova Southeastern University, primarily located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offers a Master’s of Science in Clinical Vision Research.
Students of the MS in Clinical Vision Research (CVR) Program will build on the already learned foundations of previous schooling as well as specializing in the clinical research in a patient care or academic setting, practicing at the highest level of proficiency, integrity, and professionalism.
An innovative advance in technology and health sciences has had a positive impact of the effectiveness of how optometry and the professionals in the field work, communicate and learn. The newest technologies have improved most fields of medicine and healthcare, including clinical optometry and vision science. The advancement of research technology has also increased the need for well-educated and skilled professionals to manage the acquisition and exchange of critical information.
The program is designed to enhance the skills of professional optometrists, optometric educators, optometric students, as well as other health-care professionals who wish to extend career opportunities in clinical vision research or those who currently practice or plan to practice clinical vision research in a patient care or academic setting. The program is designed to provide the CVR graduate student with the opportunity to acquire the skills to design, develop, perform, analyze, and evaluate research projects and studies needed for successful transition from clinical practice to research.
Graduates are required to complete a thesis project before completion of the program. The project will demonstrate a student’s full understanding of the programs objectives as well as prepare them for additional certifications such as the Graduate Certificate in CVR or a doctorate degree.
Students must have a post-baccalaureate professional degree, or a baccalaureate degree with a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
