Nova Southeastern University offers a Master of Science in Instructional Technology and Distance Education (ITDE) degree program. The program expands on the already learned foundations of students with undergraduate majors in science, math, engineering, or business, as well as introduce the advanced concepts of an educational impact within an IT program.

The Master’s in Instructional Technology and Distance Education is designed for professional educators seeking to improve teaching skills and also for individuals wishing to excel as instructional designers, trainers, e-learning specialists, and media professionals. Graduates will have the opportunities to obtain positions of leadership in education and training institutions.

Prospective students should have a working knowledge of structured programming in a modern high-level language as well as assembly language and computer organization. The program provides skills in distance education, instructional media, instructional design, and training.

The M.S. in Instructional Technology and Distance Education is comprised of 33 credit hours and includes a core curriculum of Masters courses in addition to the specialized coursework to meet the needs of working professionals such as educators, trainers, administrators, technical support staff, and developers working in the public or private sector.

A Distance Education emphasis of an IT program blends modern distance educational theory and practice with the skills applicable to complex real-world problems. Teaching students the importance of how computers, software, and other forms of information technology can be used to improve learning outcomes is one of the primary objectives of the ITDE program.
