Doctor of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP.D.)
Nova Southeastern University offers a Doctorate of Speech Language Pathology (SPL. D.). The advanced degree program is designed to improve the lives of patients with difficulties communicating. Students earning the postmaster’s degree will partake in program designed for professionals working in the field. A doctorate program focuses on developing scientifically trained and clinically experienced speech pathologists as leaders in their field.
Course content of the online doctorate program is research-based and prepares students to meet the requirements for the Certificate of Clinical Competence, and the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA). A cumulative 50 credit hour program is comprised of the essential concepts needed to excel in the field. The core coursework includes topics of:

- Neuroscience/Neuropsychology and Communication
- Pediatric Development
- Voice and Swallowing
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication
Graduates will use the new formal education of speech-language pathologies in schools, hospitals, universities, skilled nursing facilities, private practice, nursing homes, or rehabilitation centers.
