Nova Southeastern University, primarily located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offers a Doctor of Education with a concentration on Health Care Education. The advanced degree is designed to build in the already learned foundations of a healthcare education as well as introduce key essential concepts needed in the industry.
The Doctor of Education will provide practicing educators and trainers of health care providers the leadership skills used in current and future issues of social justice, managed care, professionalism, technology, disease prevention, and legal perspectives. The curriculum, comprised of 69 credit hours, covers a select program of courses tailored for health educators: Continuing Education for the Health Care Professions, Contemporary Theories in Health Care Education and Promotion, Trends in Health Care Policy, Ethics and Professionalism in Health Care, Health Care Communications, Legal Aspects of Health Care Education and Health and Learning.
Graduates will be able to apply the programs objectives through self-reflection, analysis, and practical use of best practices in the competitive workplace. The doctoral program will benefit facilitators, innovators, leaders, consultants, and instructional program designers who are required to have a working knowledge and effective delivery of health information and care.
Students must have a master’s degree by a regionally accredited institution (minimum 3.0 grade point average) .
