The Educational Leadership degree program is designed to expand on licensed educators abilities to perform in the roles and responsibilities of school administrators, education leaders, and classroom teachers. Earning an advanced degree with an administrative track will benefit teachers in prekindergarten through 12th grade public and nonpublic schools and school systems.
The 69-credit-hour curriculum is comprised of core Education coursework in addition to the concentration courses that delve into concepts such as: The Principal and School Leaders, The Superintendent and School Leaders, Advanced School Finance, Advanced School Policy, Advanced School Law, Ethics and Social Responsibility, Human Resource Development and Curriculum and Program Development.
An Educational Leadership focus fosters the development of leadership skills a specialized set of courses and the application of best practices in the workplace. The concentration also focuses on providing broad knowledge of social, political, and economic forces as to best prepare graduates for career positions in many other organizations or institutions.
Graduates who will benefit most from the specialized program will be practicing superintendents, assistant superintendents, principals, assistant principals, and lead teachers in public and nonpublic K–12 education.
