Associate of Arts in Early Child Education
Nova Southeastern University, primarily located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offers an Associate of Arts in Early Child Education. The degree program is designed to emphasis and focus the key knowledge, skills, and training required to work with young children. The program parallels the standards of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to ensure students are well prepared for successful careers in early childhood education.
Early Childhood education also known as elementary education is an education level that includes kindergarten thru fifth grade. Most children enroll in elementary school starting with kindergarten (usually five to six years old) and finish secondary education with twelfth grade (usually eighteen years old). Education in elementary settings can range from public schooling, private institutions or home schooling. Student teachers will be responsible for creating lesson plans, disciplinary actions, fostering creativity as well as exude proper ethics and professional behavior.
The innovative online program allows non-traditional and international students to receive and submit coursework, as well as interact with classmates and instructors. The virtual classroom allows working professionals to complete an associate’s degree while still fulfilling current careers or traveling long distances. Graduates of the Associate program can use the formal degree as the foundation for additional educational aspirations in teaching or as the needed education for entry into a career.
