Northwood University offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship for students who are interested in the developing the skills and the knowledge of business, entrepreneurship, and technology for the purpose of starting their own business or learning how to manage an existing business or enterprise. Students will develop an understanding of the processes and steps of innovation and in developing a new enterprise, necessitating an understanding of leadership, entrepreneurship and management fundamentals and other aspects of business operations.
Students will develop an understanding of the roles of leaders and entrepreneurs within an organization and learn how to develop new ideas in order to create new opportunities in business. Those classes include Principles of Management, Fundamentals of Financial Accounting, and Basic Computer Applications, among others.
Upon completion of the program, students will have demonstrated the basic understanding of the functions of business as well as entrepreneurial ability necessary to create new ventures and small businesses. These qualifications include but are not limited to the ability to demonstrate knowledge of management, marketing, and financial management of entrepreneurial ventures; to demonstrate knowledge of sound business principles in developing and evaluating ideas for business startup and expansion; to demonstrate the ability to prepare and evaluate a business plan; and to develop practical experience through program internships or job-related assignments.
