NSU offers initial Louisiana teacher certification through its Master of Arts in Teaching / Secondary Education, Grades 6-12. This online secondary education master’s degree provides a path for those with a non-education bachelor’s degree to obtain their teaching certification. Candidates can select a content area such as:

  • Biology
  • Business
  • Family and consumer sciences
  • Speech

The online secondary education graduate program accepts students in the summer, fall, or spring semesters. Besides the required coursework, all students must pass the PRAXIS II pedagogy exam and complete an internship in teaching.
