Master of Arts in Youth, Children & Family Ministry
Northwest Nazarene University

Program Details

Northwest Nazarene University offers an online Master of Arts in Youth, Children & Family Ministry for students to gain more experience and knowledge as a family ministry pastor or youth pastor, a layperson working in parachurch ministries, and more.  The curriculum uses a holistic approach to prepare students for these careers and is a robust study of developmental, cultural, and spiritual formation within a practical theological framework.  The program explains both historical and contemporary characteristics of human development, adolescence, and family systems theory, which are necessary for engaging in youth, children, and family ministry.  You will also study the role of Practical Theology in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition and philosophy, gaining an understanding of its importance when fostering young persons and families.  Graduates have a Biblical understanding of faith formation within the community of faith and embody this understanding and are able to demonstrate a dynamic integration of practice and philosophy of leadership that is suitable for ministry.

Students can choose either a Master of Arts or a Master of Divinity track.
