Northwest Mississippi Community College

Program Details

The Associate of Arts in Elementary Education degree offered by Northwest Mississippi Community College aims to prepare students to transfer or matriculate into a Bachelor’s level degree program in Elementary Education. Kindergarten and elementary school teachers are important to a child’s early learning processes. Elementary Educators teach students a variety of subjects including mathematics, language arts, science, and social studies. Elementary educators often use many different kinds of methods such as games, music, artwork, films, books, computers, and other tools to help them teach these basic skills. This program can also lead to other educational programs that help individuals to learn how to teach specific subjects in an elementary education setting. Individual subjects can be art, music, reading, science, arithmetic, or physical education.
