Program Details

The online RN to BSN degree completion program from Northern Kentucky University is designed for registered nurses with an associate degree or diploma who wish to expand their nursing education and advance their career. Graduates of the program are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work in a variety of practice areas such as:

  • Acute care settings
  • ​Intensive care units
  • ​Specialty areas including pediatrics, maternity, and mental health nursing
  • ​Community health settings including schools, clinics, and health departments


This bachelor completion program requires 120 semester credits for completion, including transfer credits.

  • Degree requirements: 78 credits, including 30 nursing credits
  • Be fully admitted to NKU as a degree-seeking student
  • Official transcripts from an associate degree or diploma program in nursing
  • Official transcripts from all postsecondary work completed
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale
  • Completion of required prerequisites with grade “C” or higher
  • Hold current, unrestricted R.N. licensure
