Program Details

The EdD in Transformative School Leadership is dedicated to helping administrators enact positive change in their schools. With this online doctorate in education leadership, professionals will gain a deep understanding of changes in the educational landscape and ways to create a growth mindset in teachers and staff.

Students will work on their dissertations throughout the program, typically three to four years. A faculty advisor will support your research from start to finish. All coursework can be completed online. However, once per year for the first two years, students will spend two days at one of the campuses in Boston, Charlotte, or Seattle to connect with faculty and fellow students, network, and gain tools for career success.

This program examines topics including:

  • The dynamics of policy, power, and practice in educational systems
  • Designing educational systems for justice and equity
  • The landscape of educational leadership today
  • How to lead and manage change

Additional Info

  • Applicants must attend residencies the first and second years of the program at one of the campuses in Boston, Charlotte, or Seattle.
  • International students enrolling in the online EdD program will be provided with an option to complete the residency through online participation in interactive sessions with fellow scholars offered during the residency period.
