Program Details

Northeast Iowa Community College offers the online Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice degree for those interested in learning more about the criminal justice system.  This degree in criminal justice helps students start their careers and is a way for them to transfer to a four-year institution to work on their bachelor’s degree.  You will complete general education requirements in communication, math, humanities, and social sciences which are beneficial when transferring to a four-year program for continued studies.  The curriculum is rounded out with courses in criminal justice. 

For those students not interested in transferring, this criminal justice degree prepares them for entry level positions in:

  • Law Enforcement
  • Corrections
  • Security
  • Juvenile Justice Systems

Requirements

  • High school transcript, or equivalent
  • College transcripts, if applicable
  • ACCUPLACER reading and writing assessment and ALEKS math assessment
    • May be waived based on previous college coursework or submission of valid ACT, ACT Compass, or ALEKS test scores
